Tulla Utd (6) vs (0) Longford Talent Programme “TIP” United. KO 11.10PM
Tulla United left Galway this afternoon as the Galway Bowl Champions. They won the final in a very impressive fashion. With 15minutes to go in the first half Ryan Vaughan opened the scoring with precision. A few kick from outside the 18yard box. He stepped up and bent the ball around the wall into the bottom right hand corner. 1-0.
3 minutes later a corner delivered by CJ O’Doherty created chaos in the box until Oritseweyinmi Emiko finally got the ball over the line. 2-0.
5 minutes into the second half Seánie Hayes got the first of his three goals when CJ O’Doherty put a lovely through ball for Seánie to repeat in the style he had finished the day before in the Semi Final. 3-0.
It didn’t take long for Seánie to get his second when Ryan Vaughan put Seánie through on goal with a clever through ball. 4-0.
The Hatrick for Seánie came 5 minutes later when again CJ O’Doherty put Seánie through by splitting the defence with a perfectly placed pass. 5 – 0.
With 7 minutes left on the clock CJ exploded into one of his mazy runs through what looked like the whole defence and got the goal he deserved. The goal that had been coming all week. Over 5 days these boys played 6 games scoring 16 goals. 6 different scorers. It had been a busy week whereby 16 players in total inputted in making Tulla Utd the Galway Bowl Champions. The boys are a credit to the club. They represented the club with great respect for the oppositions and match officials throughout the week and made new friendships with players we are sure to come up against in the future.
A special mention to the 18 other Tulla Utd players and coaches Paul Yorke, Patrick Lehane & Vinnie Crowe who continued with training while their teammates where up and down to Galway for the week.
Best of luck to Oisín Collins who couldn’t be with us for the Semi and Final as he is competing in the All-Ireland Fleadh in Wexford. A very important player who gave everything to the team in the group stages. And Ryan Vaughan who is heading straight to Wexford to compete in the All-Ireland Fleadh.
