At 2pm on Day 1 of the Treaty Cup, we received a call to see if Tulla Utd U12's could put a team together for the following day to keep the momentum of the competition as they were down a team.
Within two hours, 15 players that were asked stepped forward to play and how they played. We as a group have 36 players, and unfortunately, not all could be part in this tournament.
With no preparation for the tournament, they faced a very strong Dynamic Coaching Team at 11am on Day 2. Within the first 5 minutes, we knew these boys wouldn't be fazed by the skill and strength of the opposition. Tulla had most of the position in the first half and was even able to put all 6 subs on in the first half without upsetting the flow of the game. The first half ended evens at 0-0.
The second half continued much the same, with Tulla having most of the chances and all 6 changes made again to give players equal playing time. However, with 20 seconds left on clock Dynamic Coaching scored the winning goal with a lovely strike off the crossbar, which unfortunately bounced on the wrong side of the line. There were no dropped heads after the defeat as the boys knew they gave the best account of themselves but wasn't to be.
Tulla Utd 0 - 1 Dynamic Coaching
Next up at 3pm was Galway Team Salthill Devon.
With 3hours to pass, the players took to the shade within UL grounds to have their lunch.
Once the sunscreen was applied again, the players welcomed the distraction of watching the Munster players' training.

Tulla commenced their second game against Salthill Devon in the same fashion as the first game with plenty of possession. Salthill Devon had already gotten through to the Cup Final and Tulla Utd didn't have a possibility of getting through as we weren't part of Day 1 of the tournament therefore didn't have any points on the board.
With this in mind, the boys wanted to prove that they could have been contenders 🤔.
In extremely warm conditions, the boys played the way they knew best, and that was to press and support each other. They got their rewards 5mins into the second half with Oritseweyinmi Emiko putting CJ O'Doherty through on goal to put us 1-0 up.
With 9mins left in the game, Salthill Devon got their equaliser. Salthill Devon continued to try and finish strong. However, couldn't get the better of our brilliant goalkeeper, Conall Ó Murchú who produced a few important saves. The game ended Tulla Utd 1 - 1 Salthill Devon.
Best of luck to Dynamic Coaching and Salthill Devon in the Treaty Cup Final tomorrow.
Our boys move on to the Treaty Plate Final against Wicklow District Shoolboys/Girls League (WDSL) tomorrow at 11am.
